About Cloudland

Founded in 2015 by Dreamy Life Records, Cloudland has been a staple of the Fort Worth/Dallas/Denton music community. Engineer Joe Tacke joined the studio team in 2018 and purchased the studio in 2020. In 2023 Joe began an extensive remodel of the studio, redesigning the control room and making modern improvements to the already amazing sounding studio.

Cloudland features a 750sf tracking room, large enough to accommodate a six-person band playing together live. There are also two additional isolation rooms to separate instruments or vocals when required.

The centerpiece of the studio is its 1972 Auditronics 501 mixing console. The 501 boasts highly musical inductor EQ's, plus transformers in and out for that rich analog sound. It has been meticulously restored and upgraded for modern recording needs.

About Joe Tacke

Joe Tacke has been working as a producer and audio engineer since 2009. After studying Audio Engineering at Collin College, Tacke has worked around the DFW Metroplex at several of the larger studios. He finally landed full-time at Cloudland because of the studio's undeniable vibe and vibrant community around the studio. Tacke has worked with hundreds of artists through his career, including Pat Green, The Mullens, Corey Cross, and Mean Motor Scooter to name a few. Tacke has also mixed albums and mastered for clients all over the country (including Billy Joe Shaver Live in Waco for Texas Music Cafe).
